Every quilt created is a legacy passed down from the maker to the user. No one has ever returned a quilt simply because the points of a star were cut off. With fabric costs soaring to as much as $18 a yard, along with all the other materials that contribute to crafting a quilted masterpiece, it’s essential to recognize the value of this art form. Each quilt is a labor of love, whether crafted entirely by hand or with the aid of a machine. The maker deserves to be fairly compensated for their time and expertise. Personally, I have given away more of my artistic creations than I have sold. For me, quilting is a meditative practice, and whenever I am immersed in the act of creation, I find joy. I recall making the Hunter's Star quilt, where the design only revealed itself when I stepped back to admire my work. Quilters, keep on quilting and producing those beautiful works of art! Even if the corners don’t align perfectly or the star points are trimmed, you create because of your passion for the craft.
